Excess Share Insurance
Protect your members with coverage of up to $5,000,000 over your primary share insurance limits, whether you are covered by ASI or NCUA.
Note: ASI offers excess share products for credit unions located in California only. Credit unions located outside of California may obtain excess share coverage through our subsidiary, ESI.
Stand Out in Your Market
Excess share insurance is available exclusively to credit unions, giving you a clear market advantage over all other financial institutions. Show your strength by offering protection no banks and few credit unions can offer. Your members deserve the best, so give them something they can’t get anywhere else – more protection – with no additional paperwork or direct cost to them.
Flexible Coverage Options
ASI offers two excess share insurance options based on the unique needs of your credit union and your members: Double Cover, and Custom Cover. Choose one or multiple policies to accomplish your specific objectives.
Not sure where to begin? We can help you understand the many different ways an excess share insurance program can be structured, and together determine the policy type – or types – right for your credit union.
Double Cover
Protect every member of your credit union above and beyond the limits afforded by your primary share insurer. Double Cover provides up to $250,000 of additional coverage per account.
Custom Cover
Accommodate specific members, institutional or larger business type accounts. Custom Cover provides up to $5,000,000 in coverage above the limits afforded by your primary share insurance. Some restrictions apply.
Grow Strategic Accounts through ESI
Utilize custom excess coverage options to provide enhanced benefits to your members. Adding additional coverage to all members or select accounts can be the added value your members seek. Credit unions with excess share insurance often see their members use more of the credit union’s products and services.
Unsurpassed Coverage
“ASI’s excess share insurance is a differentiator that encourages South Bay members to keep larger deposits with us. But it’s also a draw for prospective members, because it offers an extra level of reassurance that few other financial institutions can provide.”
