American Share’s focus is on the safety and soundness of the credit union, leaving regulatory oversight to the individual state credit authority.

Member-Owned

American Share is a credit union-owned share insurance fund. Our Board of Directors and Advisory Council are comprised of current and former Presidents and CEOs of our member credit unions, ensuring that our membership has a voice in our operations.

Financially Sound

Our financial statements are audited annually by Deloitte & Touche, LLP. In addition to our history of low loss ratios and high equity levels, no member has ever lost money in an American Share-insured credit union account.

Dual Regulated

American Share is licensed by the Ohio Department of Insurance and dual regulated by the Ohio Departments of Insurance and Commerce, as well as supervised by credit union regulators in our other states of operation.

Theresa Mason, CPA

President and CEO

Ms. Mason spent 16 years with Grange Insurance and the Kansas City Life Insurance Company. During her tenure there, she served as President of Grange Life Insurance and directed highly effective finance, operations, sales, and IT Teams. She is a CPA and also carries her CMGA (Chartered Global Management Accountant). Ms. Mason also holds affiliations with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Ohio Society of CPAs

Kurt Loose, SVP

Chief Operations Officer

Mr. Loose is responsible for the oversight and management of all of American Share’s underwriting, monitoring, field examination and credit union resolution functions. He also manages the recruiting, training and supervision of the audit and examination staff.

Kurt Kluth

Chief Information Officer

Mr. Kluth serves as American Share’s Information Technology leader and oversees the central IT organization. He is responsible for all aspects of American Share’s information technology policies, systems, and risk management. Additionally, Mr. Kluth provides vision and leadership for developing and implementing information technology initiatives.

David Kettlehake

Vice President of Sales & Marketing

Mr. Kettlehake is charged with the oversight and management of American Share’s sales team and all other sales and marketing functions, including advertising and tradeshow activities. Additionally, Mr. Kettlehake provides leadership and direction in developing and implementing unique sales tools, methods, and policies.
